Fresh Expressions - The Wesley congregation is a foundational congregation with long serving faithful members giving permission for new and fresh approaches to ministry.
Wesley in-the-city is looking to new ways of to create a fresh expression of Church that is both broader and more inclusive. (See Charter and goals)
During 2007 we trialed several different worship styles with young families worshiping in the Hall. As a result of the encouraging response we have decided to plant a new young families and emerging church congregation besides our existing foundational congregational.
We have received a grant from the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania (Uniting Church) to commence a young families ministry and have appointed a part time specialist minister, Nigel McBrien, for three years.
