Families & Emerging Church Minister Nigel McBrien Approaches First Anniversary!

In May 2010 Nigel will reach the first anniversary of his commissioning as Families and Emerging Church Minister at Wesley.¬†¬† Here’s what one observer said about Nigel’s commissioning in May 2009, “Wesley began Nigel‚Äôs ministry in the manner in which they hope it will continue ‚Äì with an all ages, lively, entertaining, noisy and informative gathering.“¬† We wouldn’t want it any other way!!

Nigel leads Families Worship in the Hall on the first Sunday of each month (dates sometimes shift around special events such as Palm Sunday) and is planning an additional worship activity for the third week of each month.

At other times, Nigel can be found presenting Children’s Time in Church or ministering to them and to young families in the Church’s Craft Corner whilst traditional worship continues.

Families ministry at Wesley is also a pastoral outreach ministry beyond the Church and into the community, which Nigel is planning to support through a wide range of activities including: The Garden of Meaningful Sayings; Bicycle Run; Dads at Home; Walk & Coffee; KUCA Campout; Advent Crafts; and Pastoral  and Mentoring visits.
